There simply are not enough superlatives to describe the significance of February. The symbolism is staggering. First we open the month with a Full Moon in Leo, the heart of the Lion, open wide in the spotlight. Two days later Uranus, the planet of Awakening, turns direct and heads toward the threshold of Gemini. On February 15th the Sun will square Uranus activating our nervous systems and triggering change. But the climax begins on February 17th with a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius and concludes with the world shifting conjunction of Saturn and Neptune at 0 degrees of Aries.
So let’s break all this down.
The Full Moon brings the last New Moon themes into ripeness. On January 18th the Sun and Moon occupied the 29th degree of Capricorn, the final degree of this sign of patriarchal domination. Capricorn has many remarkable faces and positive qualities, but our reality is currently featuring a movie in which a civilization is strangling itself to death on lies.
Remember, the 29th degree is the death degree! Symbolically it represents the decline and death of a faulty paradigm of hierarchy and privilege. I could write a whole post on this alone. Just remember that the theme of this whole year is Awakening. While that sounds glorious, to some of us at least, it can be disorienting and disillusioning to many.
Think of the moment Copernicus confirmed that the Sun, not the Earth, was the center of our solar system. Collective consciousness exploded into factions of denial and disbelief. The centrality of our planet as the focal point of a whole solar system supported an entire paradigm of meaning and reduced the significance of humanity’s presence in the Cosmos. Humanity eventually formulated another world view. If the Earth couldn’t be the hub of existence, perhaps Man could be. Individualism was born. This paradigm shift ultimately inaugurated the Renaissance, the industrial revolution, and the “Age of Enlightenment” fueled by an explosion of inquisitive thought, engendering a passion for exploration and giving birth to Science.
That was an exciting time. And here we are, folks, right on the threshold of a new age of enlightenment. The Consciousness of Humanity is evolving. We’ve outgrown this paradigm and we see its negative impact. The outer world is reflecting back to us our inner chaos. Chaos is the prerequisite to re-assembly. As we lose our bearings on the meaning of life, our minds are racing to figure it out, to find some ground to stand on. We’re bewildered by what we have created together. Like Frankenstein’s monster, it has turned on us.
2025 was a liminal year, meaning that we were in a space between two realities, incubating like a caterpillar in our cocoons while watching the structures of our society crumble and feeling helpless to stop it. Numerically, 2025 was a 9 year – endings. 2026 is a 1 year – new beginnings. This is the year that we wake up and take responsibility. This is the year our perception of the world births a new idea, a brilliant idea that in turn will co-create a new reality.
In January I wrote about emotions as a source of great personal power, the key to reality creation. Emotions are frequencies of energy that flow through us. We can let them run their course, neither suppressing them, nor amplifying them through stories from the past. They disappear in 90 seconds without interference. Emotions deliver information. They alert us to the frequency on which we broadcast our own energy. Our bodies are the alchemical labs in which we manage our energy system.
Einstein’s theory declared that E=MC2, Energy equals Mass times the speed of light. Sounds pretty woo woo when you think about it. What is the speed of light and why does it have a limit? And how do we multiply mass times light speed? The theory is that if a manifested object can go as fast as the speed of light, it turns into pure energy. What if we reframe that formula in terms of frequency? We don’t need to hurl ourselves into space. We can raise our vibration, i.e. accelerate our speed, and connect to the quantum field where all individual consciousness unites. This is the realm of pure potential where our energy frequency attracts potential realities through resonance.
In other words, we are the strange attractors of reality creation. Learning to manage energy frequencies is the spiritual practice that will usher in the future.
It’s a stunning new thought. We have been creating reality through governments, laws, institutions, science and business, the maw of Capitalism. When we believe that life is competition, that we only live once, that the Earth is there for the pickings, and there are no consequences of our actions, we find ourselves in a frightening dystopia. But we are gathering power through expanded consciousness. We can shift this nightmare intentionally by managing our frequencies.
Preparing for the Shift
Uranus turned direct on February 3rd. When a planet moves from retrograde to direct, it pauses, it slows down to a standstill, from our perspective. This is like the pause between inhale and exhale, a liminal space of great power.
Uranus is currently pausing and taking a deep breath before moving forward through the final degrees of Taurus. Uranus is an electric energy, highly charged. It interacts with our nervous systems, producing an evolutionary impulse through flashes of insight, or surprises that shift our perception.
Uranus energy is slowed down in Earth and Water signs. We have been grinding our way through earthy Taurus, wrestling with our perception of reality. In May, Uranus will explode into Gemini with a huge sigh of relief. Finally, Uranus is free to move with the wind. It can send flashes of awareness with ease. We’ll talk about this again in May, but I want to alert you to the flow of energies in the first half of this year. With Uranus direct now, it is working in our subconscious, preparing us for the changes to come. Resistance is futile and depletes our energy. Best to go with the flow.
Symbolism and Synchronicities
The four days from February 17 through the 20th bring a wave of synchronicities. On the 17th, there will be an annular solar eclipse, commonly known as a Ring of Fire. Due to the Moon’s distance in its orbit from the Sun, it’s shadow does not cover the entire surface. At the moment of conjunction one would see a black circle literally surrounded by the flames leaping from the surface of the Sun. But we can’t see this eclipse because it’s happening over Antarctica. We will, nevertheless, feel its impact.
This Ring of Fire is the precursor to a year of Fire energy which is activating, energizing, drawing us into the unknown. On the very day of the eclipse, the Chinese Lunar New Year begins and is celebrated from February 17th, to the 21st, synchronistic with the Saturn/Neptune conjunction. It’s the Year of the Fire Horse. We can look at the image of the eclipse and imagine red horses galloping into space. Mark those days on your calendar because the energy is powerful and there to assist your awakening.
Just a note about awakening. For most of us it happens in stages, through isolated moments of mind expansion. There are isolated cases of sudden transformation, many of which are described in the Bible, but for most of us it is a process. I’m not saying that in those four days the world will be enlightened. I’m just letting you know that the energies are powerful and available to you.
The Main Event
On February 20th, Saturn is exactly conjunct Neptune at 0 degrees of Aries. Astrologer Gary Caton calls this event “the Mother of all seed moments.” So think about the seeds you are planting now. I attended the Astrology Hub summit featuring seven astrologers sharing their perception of the coming year. I was particularly struck by Rebecca Gordon’s research into past Saturn/Neptune conjunctions in Aries. What follows is a summary of her findings.
In the 593 BC Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Aries, a new age emerged, one in which we shifted from a tribal/survival mode into a new moral consciousness. It was a period of “interiorization” of moral and ethical guidelines under the influence of new religions such as Buddhism and Taoism.
In 555 AD or CE, humanity moved into a medieval unified consciousness. Pagan philosophy collapsed and Christianity ascended.
The next Aries conjunction was in 1380 when consciousness shifted from a medieval god-centered paradigm into a human-centered point of view, spawning the Renaissance. The emphasis was on the dignity of the human mind and its potential to create wonders.
The last conjunction in Aries occurred in 1703 when we moved from the Renaissance into the Enlightenment, from the sacred ensouled world into a mechanistic one. The Industrial Age was born.
Now on February 20th 2026, Saturn and Neptune usher in a new age and we are faced with a huge choice. We are entering the Age of Aquarius with its two “rulers” Saturn and Uranus. On the one hand Aquarius is known for scientific breakthroughs, advancement of knowledge and the expression of genius. We have seen the wonders of science and some of its negative consequences through the resultant technology – toxic pollution of life sustaining resources, corruption in our institutions, a widening gap between the “haves” and “have-nots.” None of this is sustainable.
On the other hand, the Uranian hand, Aquarius is about power returning to the people, welfare reform, inclusion and respect for all human life. It precipitates a shift from “me first” to a concern for the whole of humanity. It also engenders independence and fulfillment of our potential to serve humanity through our talents.
AI has the potential to become the greatest weapon of mass destruction. While it has enormous potential to serve humanity, it has equal power in the hands of profiteers who want to control our future, to deny our humanity, to support fascism and misuse their power. We are treading on volatile ground. Are we going to turn our consciousness over to AI, continue into territory ripe for abuse and domination, or are we going to embrace the spirit of the Aquarian Age with its emphasis on the power and sacredness of human life? Are we going to focus on spiritual goals of unity, peace, and the welfare of all – like Bhutan which measures its success in the happiness of its citizens, rather than the gross national product? Or are we headed for a sterile, soulless future dominated by machines? It’s so interesting that at a time when our spiritual evolution demands authenticity, AI competes with artificial intelligence.
So let’s examine the components of this conjunction, the potentials of Saturn and Neptune beginning a brand-new cycle through the Zodiac.
Saturn/Neptune/Aries Archetypes
Neptune in Pisces was a period of dissolution. Slowly our certainty began to dissolve. We weren’t sure what was real. We experienced illusion, delusion and disillusionment. Neptune was weakening the boundary between our physical world and the quantum field, the realm of pure potentiality. Neptune emphasizes that our spirituality lies in the way we treat one another, not in the dogma we follow, or how many times we go to church.
When Saturn meets up with Neptune, he sounds a wake-up call. While Neptune is boundaryless, all inclusive, the realm of dreams, visions, connection to Source, to ourselves and to one another, Saturn is the manifestor, the boundary creator, the grounding principle where the rubber meets the road, so to speak. It’s true function is to bring us the experiences we need to mature and evolve. Saturn shows us where we need to take responsibility.
Aries is a Fire sign, the first of the Zodiac, including themes of new beginnings, individuality and the desire to fulfill our potential. It’s the realm of The Fool from the Tarot deck who steps blindly into the future with beginners mind, eager to embrace life and discover what he’s made of.
Aries is the domain of Mars, which in its highest frequency provides the impetus to begin a project and carry it through to completion. Mars is our will to serve, but in our society it has turned into a confrontive energy that uses force to achieve its willful goals.
Many bubbles of illusion will be popped over the next 2-1/2 years as Saturn traverses Aries. What we think we know will be challenged. As the lies fall away and the misconceptions of our paradigm emerge, we will be forced to perceive the world through different eyes. This can be disorienting and disturbing if we let it. I suggest rejoicing that we are waking up. Activate curiosity. Become the sleuth. What illusion will pop today? Be excited and let it be the great adventure it is. Don’t leap to any conclusions yet, just watch it unfold in our world, reflecting the shift in our collective consciousness.
At 0 degrees of Aries, Neptune initiates a new spiritual cycle. We may shift from a dogma-centered religion to a devotional one, where we each discover our unique spiritual path to the new world. After all, Aries is about individualism, self-growth, self-awareness, self-sufficiency and our authenticity. Saturn will blow up some of our dreams or illusions about ourselves, but that only makes way for something bigger and better.
While Aries is the abode of Mars, perhaps as Neptune passes through the sign, we will develop a new concept of what the masculine energy is about, not domination, power-over, force, intimidation, but a protective, supportive, self-realized expression of the original archetype. In any case, Saturn and Neptune together whisper that this cycle is about taking responsibility for our spiritual lives and practice. We enter the Aquarian Age as Spiritual Warriors, intent on our mission to reunite humanity under an umbrella of respect, compassion and inclusiveness.
We will probably see a last gasp attempt to hold onto power through intimidation and propaganda. But it won’t work because Saturn sniffs out the bullshit and exposes it. Saturn makes things real. It is the sometimes-harsh teacher who shows us what a mess we’ve made of things and how we need to wake up, grow up and become responsible adults.
This is a sacred time, the Mother of all Seed Moments.” We are gestating our new selves and the new world we will co-create. Love yourself, forgive yourself, accept yourself, nurture yourself and be grateful for this opportunity to make a difference.
In March we have a Total Lunar Eclipse to give our rockets another boost. Jupiter turns direct and Mercury takes a three week pause for reflection. We’ll examine all of that next month.
Blessings on you all,
Diana
