“It’s only in uncertainty that we are naked and alive.” Peter Gabriel, That Voice Again
Two nights ago our sky finally cleared and I was able to see the sunset and the crescent Moon. I live on the Pacific coast and we usually have a marine layer that obstructs the horizon, but this night I noticed a very bright object just above the ocean. At first I thought it must be an airplane, but why was it flying so low? Then I thought it must be a bright star, but which one? I went to my laptop and pulled up Stellarium, a terrific app that shows you the location of heavenly bodies in real time. And there was Mercury.
I was so excited because the only time I have ever seen Mercury was in the early morning sky, tiny and faint because it was on the far side of the Sun. Right now, Mercury is close to the Earth and very bright as it approaches its next retrograde. It stations on June 17th, but for the moment it is dazzling. Through binoculars I could actually see its waning crescent. So if you have a clear view of the sky right after sunset, look for a bright object just above the horizon.
Today Mercury is conjunct the North Node of the Moon in the last degree of Gemini, picking up information about the future. Open your mind and listen for the messages. Mercury is the messenger of the gods, delivering seeds of future thought. We are all being asked to consider new possibilities, to expand our perception of reality and allow new thoughts and ideas to flow in. Mercury is winding down the cycle that began on February 25th. Next week is the Full Moon in Sagittarius. Might as well start our future dreaming now.
Mercury is about to leave Gemini and move into Cancer. Venus, however, remains in Gemini. I mentioned in my last post that Venus is about to begin a new cycle and create a new star point at 13 degrees of Gemini where she will join the Sun. Several of you expressed a desire to find out more about Venus in your own chart. This Venus cycle is an important one and so I’m offering a Venus Special – a half hour reading for $50. Go to my website on the “Consultations” page.
Scroll down to the “Venus Reading.” You can opt for a half hour or a full hour. Once you purchase the reading, scroll down a bit further and fill out the “Schedule a Session” form. I will get in touch with you to arrange a time.
You will learn where Venus was at your birth, whether she is a morning or evening star and how she can function optimally in your life. We’ll take a look at where she is now and what gifts she brings and you will see the five-pointed star she formed in your natal chart creating sensitive points that provide opportunities every month as the Moon passes by.
Next week we will explore the possibilities of the Full Moon. This lunar cycle is about finding inner peace by balancing your mind and your heart. At the beginning of the year I advised adapting an attitude of innocence, of not knowing, because we are in a period of chaos. We do not know the future. It is still in the realm of potential. So relax your mind. Give up worry. It only creates static. And let Venus soothe your psyche with loving Spirit. Listen to peaceful music, practice heart coherence and look for beauty everywhere.
