As I sat down to write this newsletter, a song popped into my head, “Oh what a beautiful morning!” As I examined the Full Moon chart, it was singing the same song. This Moon has enormous potential for regeneration, insight, aspiration, spiritual awakening, expanded consciousness and dreaming our wildest dreams. I might go so far as to say, this could be a tipping point as the scales dip more toward the light of the future.
We, as evolutionaries, pioneers, leaders holding up lanterns for others to follow, can make a huge impact in the next two weeks. And if we take full advantage of the abundance of this Moon, we will be equipped with a positive attitude, a full heart, and a deep devotion to our purpose.
The Full Moon occurs at 6:53 a.m. PDT, a beautiful Spring morning. The Sun is conjunct Sedna, the Strange Attractor at the outskirts of our solar system, drawing us toward enlightenment. Sedna is at Zero degrees of Gemini, opening the doors of perception.
Venus is closely conjunct Jupiter at 29 Taurus. Venus expands her influence in Taurus, connecting us back into our bodies, sparking our desire for space, a slower pace, a deep enjoyment of life. Being grounded is a major theme as so many planets are shifting into Gemini. Venus enters in the afternoon so when the Full Moon rises above the horizon, it will broadcast divine feminine energy.
We’ve been hearing for years that the Divine Feminine is returning, after thousands of years with a predominance of wounded masculine values. As the Feminine ascends, our paradigm will shift. Our values will transform. Pluto passing through our Second House has been all about values. What is near and dear to our hearts? What fulfills the lonely, aching emptiness in our bellies? What is precious and worth preserving?
Covid wreaked a lot of damage, but it also gave us a time-out. In many ways it was a gift, because it interrupted our habitual routines and blessed us with Time. We had time for leisure, time for loved ones and the simple pleasures of sharing experience with them, time to slow down and reflect on the way we have been living.
It’s interesting that corporations are pressuring employees to move back into their offices rather than work from home. Personally I think they want to justify the expense of their massive office buildings, so many of which were vacated during Covid. Nevertheless, moving back into a cubicle is not a step forward and has the side effect of imprisoning us in the dominant paradigm. We don’t need to live this way.
Jupiter enters Gemini on Thursday, May 25th, for a year’s worth of mental expansion. This gas giant can help us stop looking at the obstacles and start focusing on where we want to land. The danger of Gemini is that we can get seduced by our thoughts, sucked out of our bodies and into a virtual reality. There’s a lot of fantasy floating around out there. How perfect that Jupiter in Taurus has helped us get grounded, back in touch with our bodies which we so desperately need over the next year as we get our minds blown.
Jupiter will bring a breath of fresh air in Gemini, but particularly at this Full Moon in Sagittarius which is his power sign. We may find it easier to be optimistic, to have faith that everything will work out, to trust life and open to its abundance. Jupiter, of course, will expand our perception which brings us to the Full Moon itself.
The Moon is at 2:55 Sagittarius in our 12th House. This is the final House of the chart where we complete a cycle, harvest the lessons, let go of the past, allow ourselves to deconstruct and transform as we being the next cycle. It has been called the House of Undoing, meaning that the structures, routines and habits that define us, dissolve in this house, opening up space for metamorphosis and a new beginning.
Our 12th House is small, only 20 degrees, the first 8 of which are in Scorpio, taking us on a journey into the Underworld. The last 12 degrees are in Sagittarius. As we emerge from our depths, we begin to dream new dreams and set our sights on the future we aspire to. At the Ascendant we are reborn into a new cycle of growth, building a new sense of identity.
The Moon will pass over the USA Ascendant the same day, but first it conjuncts Pallas Athena, spotlighting and her wisdom. Pallas is conjunct our natal Makemake at 27 degrees of Scorpio.
With Jupiter on the cusp of Gemini, Pallas is gathering a broader perspective and an elevated view of reality from this powerful dwarf planet, the higher octave of Uranus. While Uranus brings us flashes of insight, Makemake downloads gestalts which transform our perception. Of course, it helps to pay attention to our inner world so we don’t miss the delivery.
Shortly after Full, the Moon will pass over our natal Haumea. We really could benefit from cultivating an alliance with Haumea. If we’re looking for anti-aging support, Haumea is our answer. This Goddess of abundant creation and diversity, regenerates herself with each creation. She’s eternally youthful.
Haumea reveals the power of a creative life and its gifts of abundance. She also shows us how painless it is to let go of the past, of our image, of our current identity and transform into something fresh and new, creative and productive. She does it all with joy.
We have been stuck in a world where commerce and finance are co-rulers. For this machine to function it needs drones to do the actual work and consumers to reward them with a purchase price. It’s one way to live, but it is soul-crushing for the drones and the majority of consumers who are forced into poverty, feeding plastic food to their children, spending sleepless nights worrying about survival. The wealth hierarchy must topple. It is so top-heavy right now it takes oppressive control to maintain it. That is why our democracy is being challenged. Control is so much easier in a fascist state. Our former president even said recently that his administration will be a unified reich! Yikes!
Sagittarius offers us the energy of imagination. Symbolized by a centaur, the centaur is an integration of human and animal, reminding us that we are still part of the animal kingdom, grounded in our bodies. The human half is pulling back a bow and aiming his arrow at the stars. Sagittarius motivates us to aspire toward higher states of consciousness, toward ideals. When we aim for the stars we are looking toward the future. We are dreaming of something even better. Our creative juices are flowing with imagination.
Sagittarius encourages all activities that will broaden the mind, shift our perception, help us see things from a broader perspective. There’s an obvious theme here. We’re stepping into a realm of higher consciousness where we ask bigger questions and explore intriguing mysteries. What’s out there – in space, in our future? What is our purpose? How can we lift out of this nightmare of hostile separation?
This Full Moon is packed with love and feminine values (Venus), with growth and abundance, with expanded awareness (Pallas, Makemake, Jupiter) and with Divine guidance (Jupiter and Sedna).
To top it all off, Jupiter and Venus are sextile Neptune at the final degree of Pisces. Neptune is like the quantum field where the potential energy of Spirit resides, precipitating out of the collective energy reservoir into matter, blinking out and back into the field. It is this connectivity, this Allness to which we return at death, but to which we are always connected. This is our wholeness, our Oneness.
Neptune is the higher octave of Venus. It’s agape – love that transcends the personal, that has compassion for the suffering of humanity, that leads us to the peace and the bliss of immersion in the Divine.
Mars, Hygeia and Chiron
I personally am experiencing a renewal of my health after three years of illness, so I know the joy of recovery. At the Full Moon, Mars will be conjunct Hygeia, the archetype of attention to personal health. I say “attention,” because if we don’t pay it, we get sick. Hygeia is just three degrees away from Chiron, our inner mentor, who monitors the health of our psyche and alerts us to the pain we are carrying from the past. This is a great time for cleanses, for adjusting our diets, perhaps eliminating sugar and alcohol to give the body a chance to detox.
It’s also a great time to heal our thoughts because our thoughts, and the emotions they trigger, create the context in which our body functions. Are we polluting our temples with negative thinking, with self-criticism, with judgments of self and others, with dark emotions like fear and hatred? This is the arena of epigenetics which tells us that the health of our cells, organs and genes, depends upon their environment. Negative thoughts create a toxic milieu in which disease thrives. Just like our planet, we have a polluted environment within, from the personal ego as well as the toxic society in which we live.
I highly recommend Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza. He presents the bigger picture we all need to embrace on the evolutionary path. He and Dr. Bruce Lipton, an early epigenetic promoter, can be found on YouTube with enlightening information detailing how mind, spirit and body come together to create our health.
Saturn opposite Black Moon Lilith
Saturn is at 18:18 Pisces exactly opposite the Black Moon in Virgo. It’s a great time to reflect on our conditioned beliefs about the Feminine. We have been indoctrinated with convictions that women are the weaker sex. There is active suppression of women now. Interesting as the Divine Feminine returns, the patriarchs are getting defensive. As I said, it takes a lot of control to maintain domination.
The truth is that most women have patriarchal beliefs about themselves. I sure did. For years I pounded on that glass ceiling from underneath, believing that I wasn’t good enough to break through. Even now, it’s hard not to see myself as dependent, especially when ill, and as I get older; but that doesn’t mean I’m weak. It takes great strength to maintain life after 80. For a long time I sought recognition within the very system that is oppressing me. That’s a losing battle. Ultimately I was able to redefine success because I realized my true values synced with the Feminine – relationships, caring, connecting, loving, appreciating beauty and creativity, enjoying nature, living a gentle life.
It’s a good time to disinfect our feminine energy and seek out some of the biases we have inherited. Lilith was the first manifestation of the Divine Feminine. Eve was created much later by patriarchs who wanted to strip the feminine of its divinity and limit its power to reproduction. And they’re still trying! 5000 some years of struggle to oppress.
Lilith came straight out of the Divine Creator. Eve came out of Adam’s rib. Although the original word meant “side,” actually indicating that male and female came side by side in full equality, not one as an appendage of another.
Wrapping Up
Mercury is out of its shadow now and eager to explore new territory. On May 27 the messenger is sextile Saturn in Pisces, consulting with the karma lord. On May 30th Mercury will be conjunct Uranus. Great day to sit quietly and open to the insights. Our minds may tend to spin that day as Uranus boosts our nervous systems.
Pluto is retrograde, reviewing its work so far this year. Ceres has turned retrograde indicating a time to renew. We all are giving so much of ourselves to the world, to family and friends. Retrograde draws us back inside to be refreshed by the still waters deep within.
Have a blessed Full Moon. If you have clear skies, take time to “moon-bathe. Take in the fullness of light filled with expanded love and compassion. Think back to all the work you have done, how far you have come, how much you have grown. Appreciate yourself. Celebrate yourself. Then dream your most beautiful dreams for yourself.
