Series: What's Going On?

In general, the USA is suffering from “Inflated Ego,” IE for short, arising out of an idealized self-image, a strong sense of entitlement and a belligerent attitude. This condition will persist through adolescence, but subside when the patient matures. It can also be destroyed by some unexpected event.

We can integrate a healthy Neptune, draw his inspiring energies from our depths and express them, transforming them into works of beauty, acts of compassion, sacred offerings. Or, we can allow Neptune to draw us in, lure us to escape, go unconscious, create a fantasy inner world where all is hunky dory.

That’s the essence of Neptune. He gestures to us, luring us inward, to follow the trail of longing to its heart. Everything that touches us with a sense of the sacred is part of Neptune’s influence.

At his finest, Mars is a hero, defending the realm, protecting the women and children, standing up for justice. This, of course, requires an enemy – someone to be afraid of, someone who threatens our safety, a stranger, an outsider.
